Preschool Classrooms

Preschool Curriculum

We start each day at Prairie Pals Preschool with a prayer and the Pledge of

Allegiance.  All preschool classrooms will have circle time, table time,

music and movement, center play, large motor time and snack time.

Each week is structured around a pre-determined curriculum theme.

We also have a Bible theme that coincides with our classroom theme

and a chapel chat session centered around our Bible theme.

2-Year Old Classrooms

Children wearing pull-ups are welcome in this class.

Children must be 2 years old on or before

May 31 the summer prior to the start of school.

In the 2's program, we  work on letter, number, color and name recognition.

Your child should be able to sit for a story, follow basic instructions including

removing their coat and hanging up backpacks.  Independence is needed

at snack time and there is an emphasis on mastering transitions.

3-Year Old Classrooms

Children must be 3 years old prior to the start of our school year to enroll

in our 3's program.  In the 3's classrooms, we continue to work on letter, number,

color and name recognition.  Writing, cutting and other fine motor skills

are incorporated into daily lessons and activities.  Social skills

and independence are important factors to this class.

4-Year Old Classrooms

Children must be 4 years old prior to the start of our school year to enroll

in our 4's program. The 4's classrooms will fine tune letter and sound

associations and writing all of the alphabet.  In addition, we will introduce

basic math concepts, including addition and subtraction.  Writing, cutting

and other fine motor skills are incorporated into daily lessons and activities

and Kindergarten readiness is the focus of our Spring semester.

Pre-K Classrooms

Children must be 4 years old prior to the start of our school year to enroll

in our Pre-K program. The Pre-K classrooms will review numbers and letter concepts

in the Fall.  In our 2nd semester, we will focus on math concepts, including addition, subtraction, time and money.  Beginning reading curriculum is introduced

as well culminating with our Coconut Reading program at the end of the year.

Our goal is for our students to be as ready for Kindergarten as possible.
